The Abbey

Working with you so far

Since 2019, we’ve been talking and listening to you to find out what matters to you – what you like, what could be better, and what ideas you have for your community. Throughout 2021 we carried out consultation with you and more than 2000 surveys were completed. We also met with you at the end of 2022 to hear your views directly – thank you to everyone who gave their input.

With your feedback, we created a new and improved design from what we showed you during the Public Exhibition, with as many of the things you want as possible – something that truly everyone will benefit from in some way. We’re now in the process of submitting our outline planning application to Breckland Council to show them what, with your input, we plan to do.

Our promise and support for Abbey residents

Whether you’re a homeowner, a Samphire Homes tenant, a private tenant, or a landlord, we have meaningfully consulted with you so that we understand what matters to you. We promise to keep on listening to your views in the months and years to come; whatever we do on the Abbey will be shaped with your feedback, and we promise to continue engaging and consulting with you throughout the regeneration process.

We’re now in the process of submitting an online planning application to Breckland Council based on the design we showed you at the Public Exhibition, which will give a general idea as to what we want to do. This can take up to a year to be approved, but if successful will give us the go ahead to do something on the Abbey.

Our aim is to bring long-term improvements to the Abbey that tackle the issues that you have told us about in our conversations.
