Jasmine King: Higher and Degree Apprentice of the Year!
We are celebrating the achievements of Flagship’s degree-level apprentice Jasmine King, who has won the ‘Higher and Degree Apprentice of the Year’ award by Apprenticeships Norfolk.
Jasmine joined Flagship in September 2019 as part of the Group’s ‘Bright Futures’ programme, where apprentices are offered a professional qualification and degree course, combined with practical on the job experience.
The Apprenticeships Norfolk award recognises and celebrates apprentices and employers in Norfolk. Individuals and organisations were nominated for going above and beyond and showing resilience, flexibility and innovation, especially with the uncertain backdrop of the pandemic.
Jasmine said: “I am so overwhelmed to have won this award! It genuinely means so much to me and I would not be where I am today without the support of some truly incredible people across the Group. A huge thank you to my colleagues for believing in me and empowering me to seek new opportunities.
“My apprenticeship has been the best decision I have made. I have learnt so much and I never would have believed I would be achieving these great things and winning awards when I started my apprenticeship 18 months ago.”
Tomas Lloyd, Apprenticeship Delivery Manager at Flagship said: “We’re all so impressed by Jasmine and her outstanding work ethic, which has led her to do great things. Jasmine is an asset to our company, a great ambassador of apprenticeships and a worthy ‘Apprentice of the Year’ winner!”
Degree apprentices are given the opportunity to rotate around the Group, to gain valuable insight of all areas of the business and help Flagship to continuously improve. Jasmine continued: “My current role in Hopestead is truly rewarding and I love working with the team. The judges were so positive about Hopestead’s commitment to end homelessness in the East of England, as well the support given to Flagship customers who experienced financial hardship because of Covid-19. I have also had the opportunity to engage and lead in other projects across the Group, including recruitment, promoting inclusion, tackling stigma, and sharing my experience as an apprentice.
“My passion has been recognised by the Young Apprentice Ambassador Network (YAAN) as I am the Norfolk Lead and support other YAANs across Norfolk. I am also pleased to be the Vice-Chair of the Apprentice Council at the Association of Apprentices to help apprentices maximise their potential. These are all great opportunities for me.
“My emails are always open if anyone is thinking of undertaking an apprenticeship and would like to chat about my experience! – jasmine.king@flagship-group.co.uk”
We are very proud of Jasmine - what an incredible achievement!
