Gasway announced as presenting partner for Walking With The Wounded 2022

Gasway, heating contractor for Flagship Group, will be supporting leading military Charity Walking With The Wounded (WWTW) as one of the official presenting partners for this year’s Walking With The Wounded event.

In its 9th year, the event takes place in Grasmere in the Lake District. Since 2013 over 1,000 teams have taken part and raised more than £1.2 million for the charity, which works alongside the NHS to deliver employment, mental health, care coordination and volunteering programmes to former servicepeople and their families.

Each team signs up to take on either the Peak (1 peak, 10km, 641m of climbing over an estimated 4-10 hours), Tough (9 peaks, 26km, 1732m of climbing over an estimated 5-10 hours), or Tougher (12 peaks, 32km, 1885m of climbing over an estimated 6-11 hours) routes and, raising a minimum of £2,000.

Gasway and Blueflame (who last year raised £12,000) are inviting seven teams from across the Group to join their teams in May to take on the hiking challenge. These teams will represent all areas of the Group (Flagship Group, Flagship Homes, Flagship Services, Hopestead, and Newtide, Samphire and Victory Homes) with teams of four aiming to raise £500 per person.

James Davis, WWTW Events Manager, commented:WWTW is thrilled to welcome Gasway back to the Cumbrian Challenge this year as a presenting partner. The team at Gasway has shown incredible support for the Charity over the years and, we are looking forward to following their 12 teams as they take on the Fells.

David Metcalf, Marketing Manager at Gasway, added:Gasway has supported the Cumbrian Challenge over the past few years, from bringing committed teams of staff and suppliers to employing WWTW beneficiaries and delivering direct impact for those who served.

We are delighted to be on board this year as a presenting partner. It’s a fantastic way to engage staff and raise awareness of our support for our ex-military, whilst also powering this event to greater heights and heating up the competition with a remarkable 12 teams this year.

The Cumbrian Challenge takes place in Grasmere from May 14th to 15th. For more information, and to register, visit the WWTW Cumbrian Challenge website here.
