Flagship Group recognised at the Energy Efficiency Awards

Flagship Group continued a successful run of awards after winning two second-places at the Energy Efficiency Awards, following the Group's win for Eastern Region ‘Housing Association/Landlord of the Year’.  This was the postponed 2020/21 awards ceremony, with the 2022 event set to take place on October 14, 2022.

The Group was recognised in two categories: “National Housing Association/Landlord of the Year”, and "National Renewable Heat Project of the Year".

“National Housing Association of the Year” recognises Flagship’s continued ambition to become the best landlord in the UK, one of the principal drivers that underpins the Group’s vision.

“National Renewable Heat Project of the Year” was in recognition of a successful undertaking carried out in Felixstowe, Suffolk. Flagship installed a number of ground source heat pumps to help bring more efficient and sustainable heating solutions to our tenants in the area.

With rising fuel costs and rates of fuel poverty, these works are essential and underpin the Group’s continued commitment to tenants’ wellbeing and to the environment.

Megan Cresswell, Energy and Sustainability Manager, said:After success at the regional awards It was great to be recognised as finalists in two categories at the National Energy Efficiency Awards 2020/21.

The intensive retrofit programmes and ambitious renewable projects undertaken by the group, will benefit so many individuals and our planet as a whole by reducing carbon emissions, future proofing homes and providing affordable warmth.

We are proud to be leading the way in the sector, committed to improving our environmental performance and in turn making our homes more energy efficient.
