Flagship and Travis Perkins donate building materials and tools to West Suffolk College students

In collaboration with partner Travis Perkins, Flagship have donated materials and tools to students of Building and Construction Level One and Building and Property Maintenance Level Two at West Suffolk College.

The partnership with the college began in 2021, with the aim of establishing an employer-educational model by providing support and materials to learners on building and property maintenance pathways.

These materials and tools were provided, together with Travis Perkins, to benefit the students by giving them hands-on experience with the real equipment they would be using professionally, to ultimately help shape future professionals in the sector.

Nadine Tapp, Head of Flagship’s Group Academy, said: "We formed this partnership with West Suffolk College to establish a true employer-educational model. This collaboration empowers us to cultivate a proficient talent pool among students, facilitating their progression into our apprenticeship roles and actively contributing to our vision to solve the housing crisis.

Our commitment to supporting local colleges is vital in nurturing the essential skills required for both regional development and maintenance of affordable housing, especially considering the prevailing construction skills shortages in the East."
